ORDINANCE NO. 388.
AIT INITIATIVE ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND FIXING A SALARY
PAID TO THE COUNCILMEN OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND
AND PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF PAYMENT
THEREOF .

WHEREAS, there has been presented to the Council of the City of Richmond a petition signed by qualified electors of the ' City of Richmona, containing 388 valid signatures, sala valia signatures exceeding in number 10% of the entire votes cast at the last preceeding General Munioipal Election in the City of Richmond, mherein the Council of the City of Richmana is petitioned to immediately pass and adopt without alteration, as an ordinance of the City of Richmona the ordinance hereinafter set forth.
AND WHEREAS, under the provisions of Section 2 Of Árticle VIII of the Charter of the City of Richmond the Council of the City of Richmond is required to pass such rainance without altor- ation or submit the same to the electorate in the manner pro- vided in asia Section ? Óf Article VIII.
NOT THEREFORE the council of the City of Richmond do'
hereby elect to páas sala ordinanao mithout alteration as follors, to-wit:
The People of the City of Richmond do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. Each member of the Council of the City af
Richmond shall Ieceive and be paid a salary of Fifty (50) Dollars per month.
SECTION 2. Said salary shall be paid out of the treasury of the City of Richmond by warrante drawn monthly upon the General Fund.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force on and after the first day of August; 1915.
I hereby certifynthat the foregoing ordinance wes passed and adopted äs an initiative Ordinance of the City of Richmond in conformity with the provisions of Section 2 of Article VIII of the Charter of the City of Richmond, at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Richmond held on the 19th day of July, 1915, by the following rote: -

Ayes: Councilmen Iudewig, Gerlach, Fernald, Ogborn, Penry Leno, Picton, Hartnett and Garrard.
Noes: None.
Absent: None.
