DISCUSSION:
The 7th Street Bike Lane Improvement Project is situated between Hensley Street and Lincoln Avenue, at the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) grade-separated overpass in the Iron Triangle neighborhood. This initiative includes the extension of bike lanes, installation of signage and striping, sidewalk construction, curb and gutter improvements, driveway modifications, guardrail installations, asphalt concrete work, a 2-inch grind and inlay, base repairs, and the incorporation of bicycle safety features.
The introduction of Class IV bike lanes will help reduce vehicle speeds by narrowing travel lanes, while the new sidewalks will prioritize pedestrian movement.
The project is funded by the state through the Clean California grant program, which has an expiration date of June 30, 2025.
The City publicly solicited bids for the project via BidsOnline on November 21, 2024.
Bids were opened on December 17, 2024, with a total of nine (9) submissions. Below are the bid amounts from the nine (9) bidders.
