STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Whitney Tipton is reapplying to serve on the Richmond
Rent Board.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: REAPPOINT Whitney Tipton to the Richmond Rent Board with a term that expires on March 31, 2027 –
Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION: Whitney Tipton has experience both as a homeowner and a tenant. She was a long-term beneficiary of a rent-controlled unit, which played a crucial role in her journey toward homeownership. Additionally, she has a background in social justice, holding a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Juris Doctor degree in Law.
