RESOLUTION NO. 150-24
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE AND APPROPRIATION OF TWO $250,000
GRANT AWARDS TO THE CITY OF RICHMOND FROM THE HELLMAN
FOUNDATION
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond applied for two Hellman Foundation Richmond Park Equity Plan (RichPEP) grants; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond has been awarded grant funding in the amount of $500,000 (two $250,000 grants); and
WHEREAS, staff intends to use the awarded funds to complete two key projects: 1) Asset Management Plan for Parks and Recreation Centers, and 2) Martin Luther King Jr.
Community Center and Park Design Update; and
WHEREAS, the Grantee, City of Richmond, will enter into agreements with the Hellman Foundations to carry out the projects.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Richmond does ordain as follows:
1. Authorizes the City Manager or their designee to execute the required grant agreements;
2. Appoints the City Manager or their designee, as agent to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited to applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned projects); and
3. Appropriates the grant funds once the grant agreements are executed.

I certify that the foregoing resolution was passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Richmond at a regular meeting thereof held December 17, 2024, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Bana, McLaughlin, Robinson, Zepeda, Vice Mayor Jimenez, and Mayor Martinez.
NOES: None.
ABSTENTIONS: None.
ABSENT: Councilmember Willis.
