STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Garrett Shishido Strain is applying to serve on the
Community Crisis Response Program Advisory Board
RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPOINT Garrett Shishido Strain to the Community Crisis Response Program Advisory Board with a term
that expires on December 31, 2027 – Mayor’s Office
(Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Garrett Shishido Strain brings a strong background in worker representation, policy development, and institutional capacity-building, all of which align with the goals of supporting and strengthening the non-violent crisis response. With academic credentials including a B.A. in International Studies, a masters in public administration, and a Master’s in Sociology, Strain offers a well-rounded perspective and a commitment to community-centered approaches.
Garrett’s appointment is recommended to support the continued growth and effectiveness of the CCRP.
