島田大祭「帯まつり」開催の御案内

これまで、リッチモンド市と島田市の間に、良い友好関係が続いていることに
感謝いたします。
さて、 島田市では、 本年10月11日～13日の３日の間、 ３年に１度開かれる 『島
田大祭「帯まつり」 』が開催されます。これは、1695年から続く伝統的な祭りで、
「日本三奇祭」として数えられています。祭りでは、絢爛豪華な大名行列やお神
輿など多くの出し物があり、期間中、島田市内は観光客で賑わいます。ぜひ、リ
ッチモンド市の皆様には島田市へお越しいただき、島田の歴史・文化に触れてい
ただければ幸いに存じます。代表団のご来訪を、心よりお待ち申し上げます。
代表団のご来訪をいただける場合、 2025年３月末日までに訪問される方の人数
（リッチモンド市、リッチモンド市議会、リッチモンド・シマダ友好委員会の訪
問者合計12人まで、ホテル宿泊人数は合計10人まで）をご連絡いただきたくお
願いいたします。
今後、リッチモンド市と島田市との友好の絆がより一層深まり、両市の益々の
発展へとつながる交流の継続を期待しております

Shimada Big festival Invitation
I hope this message finds you well.
I am grateful for the good friendship that has continued between the city of Richmond and the city of Shimada.
Now, the " Shimada Big Festival 'Obi Matsuri' " will be held 3 days in Shimada City from October 11 to 13 this year, which takes place every three years. This is a traditional festival that has been held since 1695 and is known as one of the "Three Unique Festivals in Japan." The festival features a gorgeous Daimyo (feudal lords) parade, Omikoshi (portable shrines) as well as many other attractions, and during this period, Shimada City will be bustling with tourists. We sincerely hope that the members of Richmond City will visit Shimada City and experience its history and culture. We are looking forward to the delegation's visit with all our hearts.
If you could visit Shimada, we kindly ask you to inform us of the number of visitors by the end of March 2025. A total of 12 guests including Richmond City, Richmond City Council and Richmond-Shimada Friendship Committee are invited and up to 10 hotel rooms are available.
I hope that the bonds of friendship between Richmond City and Shimada City will deepen further and lead to continued exchanges that contribute to the development of both cities.
