STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Valerie Snider is reapplying to serve on the Richmond
Shimada Friendship Commission
RECOMMENDED ACTION: REAPPOINT Valerie Snider to the Richmond Shimada Friendship Commission with a term that expires on
December 31, 2028 – Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo
Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Valerie Snider has been involved with the Shimada Friendship Commission since 2016 and has served as an appointed member since 2018. Their continued commitment reflects a strong dedication to fostering positive relationships and meaningful cultural exchange between the City of Richmond and its sister city, Shimada, Japan. Snider’s ongoing participation will help sustain the commission’s mission and strengthen international ties through community engagement and cultural understanding.
