STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
The League of California Cities makes an annual request to member cities to designate a voting delegate and
alternate(s) to attend the Annual Business Meeting of the League of California Cities’ Annual Conference.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
DESIGNATE a voting delegate and alternate to represent
the City of Richmond at the Annual Business Meeting of
the League of California Cities’ 2025 Annual Conference and Expo, to be held in Long Beach at the Long Beach
Convention Center, Wednesday, October 8 through
Friday, October 10, 2025 – City Clerk’s Office (Pamela
Christian 510-620-6513).

DISCUSSION:
An Annual Business Meeting is held each year at the League of California Cities’ Annual Conference. During the Business Meeting, the members consider and vote on resolutions to establish policies for the League. It is important that each member city participate in the business meeting to ensure they have the opportunity to be a part of the decision-making process for League policies.
Attendance and participation at the Business Meeting is restricted to cities that have designated a voting delegate and an alternate. Both the voting delegate and the alternate must be registered for the Annual Conference.
The Annual Conference will be held October 8 through 10, 2025, in Long Beach at the Long Beach Convention Center, and the deadline to submit the names of the delegate and alternate is Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
