STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Jennifer Koscielniak is applying to serve in a vacant
position on the Recreation and Parks Commission
RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPOINT Jennifer Koscielniak to the Recreation and Parks Commission with a term that expires on October
26, 2026 – Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-
620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Jennifer Koscielniak brings a deep appreciation for the role parks play in enhancing community life and promoting public health. Her commitment to preserving and improving recreational spaces reflects the Commission’s mission for equitable access to safe, vibrant, and sustainable parks for all residents. With a strong belief in the power of parks to foster connection, support wellness, and provide free, inclusive spaces for families and individuals, Koscielniak will be a valuable addition to the Commission’s efforts to strengthen the city’s recreational infrastructure.
