Re: Funding Commitment for Central Avenue I-80 Undercrossing Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements
Dear Mr. Weiss:
The City of Richmond is pleased to provide our funding commitment as indicated in the Caltrans District 4's Active Transportation Program (ATP) application for the Central Avenue Interstate 80 Undercrossing Pedestrian and Bicycle Improvements (Project). The Project will provide much-needed upgrades to pedestrian facilities and new dedicated bikeways to improve mobility and connectivity along Central Avenue across Interstate 80 linking the cities of Richmond and El Cerrito.
The City of Richmond is committed to providing funds in the amount of $50,000 in Fiscal Year 2024-25 to use as a local match for implementation of the Project. The funding sources may include the City's Environment & Community Investment Agreement (ECIA), Transportation Development Act Article 3 Program, or other sources secured by the City at that time.
We are excited to work with Caltrans District 4 to engage further with the community, refine the project design, and support project implementation. If you or your staff have any questions regarding this matter, please contact Patrick Phelan, Infrastructure Administrator, at patrick [email protected] or (510)307-8111.
Sincerely,
san
