STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
The Department of Public Works, Parks & Landscaping
Division, is seeking the establishment of a standing
Purchase Order (P.O.) for playground equipment
maintenance and repair materials to respond to any
safety concerns, maintenance work orders, vandalism, or equipment and parks furnishings replacement needs.

RECOMMENDED ACTION: ADOPT a resolution and AUTHORIZE a standing purchase order with Ross Recreation Equipment
Company, Inc. distributor for Landscape Structures, Inc. and DuMor Site Furnishings, Inc. for as-needed
playground and parks equipment starting October 21,
2025, and ending October 21, 2030, for a total amount
not to exceed $300,000 – Public Works Department

DISCUSSION:
The Public Works Departments - Parks & Landscaping is seeking adoption of a resolution authorization a standing purchase order (P.O.) with Ross Recreation Equipment Company, Inc. for playground equipment and parks furnishings, maintenance and repair materials to respond to any safety concerns, maintenance work orders, vandalism, or replacement needs (Attachment 1). This P.O. request is for equipment materials only. Examples of parts or playground materials being purchased include slides, swings, climbing equipment, and park benches.

Ross Recreation Equipment Company, Inc. is the sole-source vendor distributor in Northern California that can provide replacement parts made by the manufacturers Landscape Structures, Inc. and DuMor Site Furnishing, Inc (Attachment 2). Establishing a standing purchase order with the Ross Recreation will support timely procurement of materials, enable prompt playground equipment repairs, ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain warranty requirements, and reduce potential liability.
