The original contract included the base bid, one alternate bid item, repair of copper-theft vandalism, and a contingency allowance.

The project scope was subsequently expanded to incorporate additional capital improvements:
 HVAC Renovation and Rebuild – $500,000 (approved July 1, 2023)  Site Infrastructure Improvements – $1,000,000 (approved December 5, 2023) On April 16, 2024, the City Council approved a contract amendment increasing Arntz Builders’ total contract amount to $3,978,715, with a contingency of $397,871, for a total authorized construction budget of $4,376,586.

Project plans, specifications, and contract documents were prepared by the City’s Architectural Consultant Mark Albertson Architects. Construction management, inspection, and oversight were provided by City staff and consultants.

The Booker T. Anderson Community Center officially reopened to the public on June 6, 2024. All construction activities were completed in accordance with the approved plans, specifications, and City of Richmond standards.
