1. Why are you interested in serving on the Oversight Board? As a native of Richmond, CA, I am deeply committed to the well-being, safety, and rights of children. I have witnessed both the challenges families face and the power of strong community support. Serving on the Oversight Board offers an opportunity to help ensure all children have access to safe environments, quality education, and opportunities to thrive.
With a background in Culinary Arts, Nutrition and Dietetics, Financial Management, Administration, and Entrepreneurship, I bring valuable skills and insight. I am passionate about equity and accountability, and I view this role as a meaningful way to give back to my community.
2. What is your vision for youth in Richmond?
My vision for youth in Richmond is for every young person to be safe, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential, regardless of background or circumstance. Growing up in Richmond, I've seen both the challenges and the strength of our community. I believe in investing in education, healthcare, job opportunities, and safe spaces that help youth grow and succeed. I envision a city where young people are heard, celebrated, and included in shaping their futures—surrounded by mentors, advocates, and resources. Richmond's youth deserve to thrive with confidence, knowing their community values them and is committed to their success

As a current culinary instructor and nutritionist with a background in Nutrition and Dietetics, Financial Management, and Administration, I bring hands-on experience in education, job training, and youth development. I have worked with underserved populations, helping both young people, the elderly, and families gain essential life skills, career readiness, and access to healthy food education. My work supports both youth empowerment and parent engagement. I understand the importance of teamwork strategic both youth empowerment and parent engagement.
