A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF BULK LANDSCAPING
MATERIALS FOR CITYWIDE PARK MAINTENANCE, LANDSCAPING
IMPROVEMENTS, AND RIGHT-OF-WAY RESTORATION FROM BLUE ANGEL
INTERNATIONAL LLC FOR A THREE-YEAR TERM, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $300,000, WITH AN OPTION TO EXTEND FOR TWO ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR TERMS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT-TO-EXCEED $100,000 PER YEAR
WHEREAS, the Public Works Department is responsible for maintaining landscaped areas across the City including parks, medians, public rights-of-way, and athletic field facilities; and
WHEREAS, these efforts require the ongoing purchase of bulk landscaping material s including decomposed granite, gravel, sand, compost, soil amendments, and turf maintenance products to support park maintenance, landscaping improvements, and right -of-way restoration projects throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, a competitive bid solicita tion issued through the City’s BidsOnline System reached 209 vendors for the supply and delivery of bulk landscaping materials; and
WHEREAS, the City received one responsive bid from Blue Angel International LLC, and staff determined the submitted pricing to be reasonable and competitive with current market pricing for bulk landscaping materials; and
WHEREAS, Blue Angel International LLC demonstrated the ability to provide bulk landscaping materials meeting industry standards and provide delivery to City facilities and project locations as required for City operations; and
WHEREAS, establishing unit pricing through this solicitation allows the Public Works Department to procure bulk landscaping materials on an as -needed basis to support ongoing park maintenance, landscaping improvements, and right-of-way restoration efforts throughout the City; and
WHEREAS, funding for this purchase in the amount of $300,000.00 for the three-year term and $200,000.00 for the two optional one -year extensions is available in the approved Public Works Operations and Maintenance budgets supporting parks and landscaping maintenance activities.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Richmond approves the purchase of bulk landscaping materials from Blue Angel International LLC for a three-year term in an amount not to exceed $300,000, with an option to extend for two additional one-year terms in an amount not-to-exceed $100,000 per year.
