STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Javier Cabra is applying to serve on the Library
Commission.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPOINT Javier Cabra to the Library Commission to a vacant seat with a new term ending July 1, 2029 –
Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Javier Cabra is applying to serve as a Library Commissioner because he believes deeply in expanding access to books and learning for young people. He currently serves as an Executive Director in the education sector and previously served as principal of a Richmond 6–12 school. Serving as a Commissioner would allow him to continue supporting literacy and learning for the Richmond community.
