REASONS FOR INTEREST IN APPOINTMENT:
I am a former educator and dual-licensed racial/social justice-oriented mental health professional. I hold experience in community mental health and in providing support for asylum seekers in local ICE detention. And as an immigrant myself, I am deeply interested in community alternatives to neighborhood crises and conflicts that do not involve the police. It is important that we foster a program that reflects our diverse community needs and meets our collective need for safety in challenging times with trauma-informed care and compassion.
