Dear Richmond City Council.
Thank you for considering my application for the Richmond Youth Council. I would love to hold a position on this council because it would mean a lot for me to make a difference in my community. I recently met Councilmember Soheila Bana who told me about this opportunity and encouraged me to apply, which made me feel confident that I would be a great fit. I have lived in Richmond my entire life, and feel strongly about having my voice heard, working with other youth who share the same passion for public service as I do and who want to ensure that the city's youth are able to succeed and thrive. Through volunteering at various events such as Valley View Elementary School's Fall Festival and Pinole Hercules Little League's Closing Ceremony, I have learned how much I enjoy giving back and supporting other youth. I would be honored to serve on the Richmond Youth Council and contribute my ideas, enthusiasm, and dedication to the community.

-Worked at The Sandbox Daycare during school breaks. I helped take care of young children, from ages 2 to 4, playing with them, helping feed them, and assisting the daycare director with clean-up and other tasks. - Volunteered at Valley View Elementary Fall Festivals and Spring Fling. This included helping set up before and clean up after the events, being in charge of the snack booth, and assisting with other activities during the events.
Home Run Derby, Hit-a-Thon, and clean up after the event. -Volunteered at Pinole Hercules Little League's closing ceremony for the past few years. This involved helping the coaches with the the younger kids with a variety of activities. -Volunteered at Camp Mosby, a local summer day camp. This included assisting the camp directors with assorted tasks and helping -Volunteered at the Travis Air Force Base Airshow. I helped kids use the flight simulator.
