STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Abigail Yarng is reapplying to serve on the Richmond
Youth Council.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: REAPPOINT Abigail Yarng to the Richmond Youth Council to a vacant seat with a new term ending October 1, 2027 – Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo Martinez 510-
620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Abigail Yarng has been serving and greatly contributing to the Youth Council since August 2025. She has interned for Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, where she gained experience working in local government and serving her community. She also volunteers at her church as the media coordinator, managing social media and AGENDA

helping organize and run fundraisers. In addition, Abigail interned with the Youth Mental Health Academy, where she learned about child development and the importance of supporting children's mental health.
