STATEMENT OF THE
ISSUE:
Matheus Lemes Da Costa is applying to serve on the
Richmond Youth Council.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: APPOINT Matheus Lemes Da Costa to the Richmond Youth Council to a vacant seat with a new term ending
October 1, 2027 – Mayor’s Office (Mayor Eduardo
Martinez 510-620-6503).
DISCUSSION:
Matheus Lemes Da Costa is seeking appointment with the Richmond Youth Council. He has leadership experience, commitment to community engagement, and interest in representing the voices of Richmond’s youth. As the Director of Student Ambassadors in his school, he leads students, coordinates volunteers, and supports school and AGENDA

community events. With over 80 hours of leadership and community engagement, he brings strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills to the Youth Council.
Matheus is committed to representing the needs and interests of young people in Richmond and helping make a positive difference in his community.
