SUBJECT: Authorization For City Manager To Authorize The Finance Director To Reappropriate Funds In The FY25 Budget Beyond The Original Intended Purpose PRESENTED BY: Mario Ysit, Chief of Police
SUMMARY:

Staff is requesting the City Council approve authorization to have the City of Ridgecrest Finance Director reappropriate funding in the FY25 budget beyond the original intended purpose. We request this reappropriation from FY25 budget account #100.20.2002.5001.300 – Salaries to FY25 budget account #100.20.2001.5105.300 – Training.

DISCUSSION:

The Ridgecrest Police Department has found the need to send multiple officers to critical training during the FY25 budget year. As a result, we are requesting salary savings from FY25 account #100.20.2002.5001.300 and have $35,000 dollars reallocated to FY25 account #100.20.2001.5105.300 for purposes of completing the critical training. We have had these salary savings due to staffing shortages. This training is critical for the safety of our officers and the services we provide to the community in the City of Ridgecrest.

RECOMMENDATION:

Authorization for the City Manager to have the Finance Director reappropriate funding in the FY25 budget beyond the original intended purpose. We request this reappropriation from FY25 budget account #100.20.2002.5001.300 – Salaries to FY25 budget account #100.20.2001.5105.300 – Training.

FISCAL IMPACT: There is no fiscal impact to the FY25 budget.

ACTION REQUESTED: Approve as requested.
