BUDGET WORKSHOPS
5.1 PUBLIC WORKS, PARK AND RECREATION, AND CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM (CIP) - Review, discuss, and provide direction for Fiscal Year 2024-25.
Public Works Director Robin Borre facilitated the discussion before City Council regarding the following budget items for Fiscal Year 2024-25:
Public Works and Community Development
1. Goals
1. Maintain Citywide infrastructure.
2. Secure additional funding for the City through grants.
3. Provide adequate and safe drinking water to the community.
4. Ensure both Wastewater Facilities are functioning within standards identified in the State permit.
5. Ensure rates are being correctly set for water, wastewater, and storm water.
6. Provide community events to showcase the City.
7. Update department procedures and provide job-related training to staff.

Rio Vista City Council Special Meeting of May 15, 2024 Minutes Page 3 of 4 Throughout the presentation, Public Works Director Borre, City Manager Kristina Miller, Finance Director Jen Lee, Police Chief Jon Mazer, and Fire Chief Adam Pfenning responded to inquiries and requests for clarification from City Council.
Four (4) public comments were received .
After consideration and discussion of the topics presented by staff, City Manager Miller requested the City Council to provide staff with guidance or recommendations regarding budget cuts as proposed by the Public Works Department.
Per City Council consensus, the City Council advised staff to wait on guidance and/or recommendations from City Council until the Special Meeting of the City Council on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.

The upcoming regularly scheduled City Council meetings are as follows:
• Tuesday, May 21 , 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 6:00 p.m.
