MEMO
To: Honorable City Council
From: Sarah Collins, Senior Civil Engineer
Date: 01/11/2022
Subject: Well 19 Pump Station Change Order 1
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Approve Change Order No.1 for demolition of existing 10-inch irrigation line and increase in materials and labor to install the new 10-inch irrigation line in the not to exceed amount of $8,865.33.

BACKGROUND:

The Well 19 Pump Station Project was awarded to Soracco, Inc. at the September 14, 2021 City Council meeting for an amount of $1,761,590.50. The first phase of the Well 19 project included the construction, development and testing of the well at Mistlin Sports Park. The Well 19 Pump Station Project consists of installing a Potable Water Pump Station and Site Improvements necessary to incorporate the well into the City potable water system.

DISCUSSION:

This project included relocating an 8-inch irrigation line on site that would be in conflict with other utilities and infrastructure. During construction, it was found that this was actually a 10- inch irrigation pipe. Staff requested that the relocated pipe be 10-inch and to remove the existing 10-inch pipe. Change order is for the increase in cost for the 10-inch pipe and removal of the old 10-inch pipe.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The attached Change Order No. 1 is in the amount of $8,865.33 and will be funded through the Water Enterprise Capital Fund.
