Subject: Peterson Grant Deed 259-170-02
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
I am requesting City Council adopt the proposed resolution accepting a grant deed for certain real property to the City of Ripon and to have the Mayor sign and execute any and all documents necessary to complete the aforementioned transaction.
BACKGROUND:
This grant deed for the property located at 259-170-02 is being dedicated to the City of Ripon to be used for public improvements.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RIPON ACCEPTING A GRANT DEED OF CERTAIN REAL
PROPERTY TO THE CITY OF RIPON
WHEREAS, Arlene J. Peterson (“Seller”) is the owner of real property located in Ripon, San Joaquin County, California 95366 described in the Grant Deed attached hereto (“Property”); WHEREAS, the ownership of the Property by the City of Ripon will further the public interest;
WHEREAS, by execution of the Grant Deed attached hereto Seller conveyed the Property to the City of Ripon (“City”); and
WHEREAS, Government Code section 27281 mandates that deeds or grants conveying any interest or easement upon real property to a governmental agency for public purposes shall not be accepted by the County for recordation without consent of the grantee evidenced by its certificate or resolution of acceptance attached to or printed on the grand deed; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ripon, as follows:
The City Council hereby authorizes the Mayor to execute this Resolution of Acceptance consenting to the transfer of title to the Property from Seller to the City of Ripon and to execute such other documents as may be necessary, subject to the City Council’s prior authorization for the City to accept ownership of the Property.
