DISCUSSION:

The Stockton Avenue project design included the patching of asphalt trenches at the south end of the project where the extension of the underground utilities extended beyond the limits of the pavers. After considering the condition of the asphalt in this area, staff has requested a change order from the contractor to do a full street width 6” grind and overlay for approximately 200 feet south of the paver limits.

Additionally, during an on-site meeting with the Modesto Irrigation District, staff was notified an additional pull box between their service and the service pedestal on-site was required. This change order also includes the cost of material and additional work needed to install this box.

The attached Change Order No. 12 is in the amount of $138,799.25 and will be funded through Street & Road Operating Fund ($57,809.86) and Measure K Grant ($80,989.39).
