i would like to express my appreciation for allowing me to present this information to you, your management team and the Ripon City Council. On behalf of our local 501(c)3 foundation, Love-Love Ripon Tennis Foundation, I thank you for considering the attached proposal.
As described in the attached document, our foundation is striving to construct new community tennis courts for the City of Ripon.
Please find enclosed, the following documents:

•Preliminary Financial Budget
•Ripon Tennis Courts Initiative Signature Pages (over 200 signatures) collected over a six-week course of time at the current community courts In summary, our foundation and donors are respectfully asking the following:
• allocate/match $400,00 in funds for the construction of six (6) new tennis courts •maintain the tennis courts
•encourage the development of tennis and USTA tournaments •support the future development of six (6) additional tennis courts and possibly a center court and clubhouse
Our local magazine, Discover Ripon, will be publishing an article in respect to our tennis foundation's mission/goals and it is our hope I can receive feedback from you in regards to this application prior to the June 30 publication deadline. 1.0 - General Information
Project Description:
To construct 6-12 community tennis courts with fencing, lights, benches, and a center court with a clubhouse, in phases, as monetary funds are available.
First phase: 6 tennis courts
Second phase: 6 tennis courts.
Third phase: Center court and clubhouse.
This is proposed to be constructed at Mistin Sports Park, 1201 River Road, Ripon, CA. on the City of Ripon designated property.
Describe the community benefits of the proposed donation:
To allow ALL Ripon residents the ability to play tennis. Also, to promote the sport of tennis through skill development, tennis matches and tournaments for the community of Ripon, CA, and its' neighboring cities. The entire community will be offered the opportunity to play tennis with the construction of 6-12 tennis courts.
Describe any sort of match being requested by the City of Ripon as part of the donation:
Requesting a $400,000 monetary match from the City of Ripon.
2.0 - Proposed Park Improvements
Describe the park and location where the proposed improvements are to be located:
The proposed improvements would occur at Mistlin Sports Park, 1201 River Road, Ripon, CA. The City of Ripon will determine the specific location of the tennis facility.
Describe the land improvements that are included as part of the proposed project:
The land improvements would include dirt leveling, underground electrical, tennis court placement, fencing, lighting, benches, and appropriate landscaping enhancements.
Describe any proposed signage (include size and location):
A tennis facility sign will be erected at the entrance. Location and size to be determined. Additionally, donor recognition signage will be placed on all tennis courts, light poles, nets and benches.
Will the proposed donation increase visitors to the City park? If yes, describe the elements of the project (e.g., parking lot, restrooms, signage, etc.) to mitigate the impact of the additional visitors as a result of the proposed park improvements:
The proposed project will increase visitors to the Mistlin Sports Park but there is sufficient parking, restrooms, and current signage for the increase. The majority of the tennis activities occur during the week days, so there will not be an issue of mitigating an additional impact of visitors.
Are the improvements proposed to be completed using a licensed & bonded contractor, volunteer labor, or by other means?
The improvements will be completed by using both licensed & bonded contractors and volunteer labor:
Attach a detailed cost estimate of the proposed improvements and indicate the cost that are included in the donation. For any cost not included in the donation, indicate how those are proposed to be funded.
Attach drawings, if necessary, showing site plan, drawings of improvements, pictures of similar improvements, etc.
3.0 - Proposed Park Improvement Use
Is the community use of the proposed improvements to be restricted in any way? If yes, describe the proposed restrictions:
No. There will be no restrictions on the community use of these proposed improvements.
Will the proposed donation be used for special events to generate revenue? If yes, describe the event, the size of those events, how often are they planned, how much revenue is anticipated to be generated, and how the revenue will be used:
Tennis tournaments will be scheduled to generate revenue for the City of Ripon. The revenue can be utilized to cover maintenance expenses for the City of Ripon as well as provide additional tennis educational activities. Alex Lopez, City of Ripon Tennis Pro, will coordinate the tournaments along with volunteers.
4.0 - Proposed Park Improvement Maintenance
Who is responsible for on-going maintenance and/or replacement of capital items included in the donation?
The City of Ripon will be responsible for on-going maintenance and/or replacemnt of capial items.
How would the donor prefer acknowledgment from the City (i.e. letter of recognition, certificate of acknowledgement, donor plaque, none or other)? Per the City's discretion Describe any additional information that would be helpful:
Tennis is one the fastest growing sports in the United States. With having a premier sports park, such as, the Mistlin Sports Park, it is imperative that the City of Ripon assist with the constrution of tennis courts for the enhancement of its' community.

The attached, over 200 signatures, were gathered over the past six weeks, at various times, from individuals and/or their parents who currently play tennis or pickleball on the existing community tennis courts (on Locust Ave.) OR who are willing to donate monetary funds to the development of new community tennis courts at Mistlin Park, Ripon, CA.
The individuals that have signed the initiative are respectfully requesting the City of Ripon to allocate funds to the construction of six 6) new Community tennis courts at Mistlin Sports Park, 1201 W. River Road, Ripon, CA.
Due to limited space for additional tennis courts at the current location, minimal parking, diesel fuel emissions from surrounding businesses and noise, the signed individuals are willing to travel approximately
2.2 miles from the current tennis courts to utilize six new Community tennis courts at Mistlin Sports Park.
The majority of signatures are from local Ripon residents but some tennis/ pickleball players are from surrounding communities who travel to Ripon frequently to play tennis with Ripon residents or take tennis lessons from the City of Ripon Tennis Pro, Alex Lopez.
