City Council
259 N. Wilma Avenue
Ripon, CA 95366
MEMO
To: Honorable City Council
From: Jane Kilgore, Deputy City Clerk
Date: 12/13/2022
Subject: Designation of Surplus Equipment
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Declare the listed City equipment be designated as surplus and authorize the equipment to be sold utilizing a local auction house or disposed of, in accordance with the Ripon Municipal Code Section 3.32.
BACKGROUND:
The City continually analyzes the functionality and use of equipment. At a point in each piece of equipment’s life cycle a determination must be made if the equipment is still useful and is cost effective to repair or upgrade.
When it is determined that an item has served its original purpose and no longer provides value to the City, designating the equipment as surplus allows the City to disburse or dispose of the equipment in the most equitable, efficient, and cost-effective manner to ensure maximum value is recovered from the item.
