Subject: Grand Jury - Final Report
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and Authorize the Mayor to sign the letter of response to Grand Jury Case No. 0321 for Superior Court of California, County of San Joaquin regarding Cybersecurity: Local Defense Against a Global Threat.
BACKGROUND:
The 2021-22 San Joaquin County Grand Jury has published Case No. 0321, “Cybersecurity:
Local Defense Against a Global Threat” (see attached). In the published case the Grand Jury has made certain findings and recommendations to each entity surveyed within San Joaquin County.
The City of Ripon is required to respond to these findings and recommendations before December 31, 2022.
DISCUSSION/RESPONSE:
Staff has prepared a final letter to the Grand Jury (see attached file “Final City Council Response to Grand Jury”) responding to each finding and recommendation that is applicable to the City of Ripon.
Staff is requesting the City Council approve the final response to the Grand Jury. Following approval of the letter it will be submitted to the San Joaquin County Grand Jury as the City of Ripon’s official response.
