AMENDMENT REQUEST: RIPON CONSOLIDATED FIRE DISTRICT FORMATION Kevin,
Per our conversation, and after meetings with the 2 X 2 committee concerning the proposed formation of a fire suppression assessment district for the Ripon Consolidated Fire District (the “Fire District”), below is a request for an amendment to the fees, to include additional tasks related to the public outreach portion of the project. The Additional Scope of Services details the additional tasks, with the corresponding fees shown under Proposed Fees.
Task 1: Review Staffing Analysis
Review and provide comments and feedback on staffing analysis provided by the Fire District. This task will include developing and delivering assessment rates based on differing levels of staffing and corresponding costs. Additionally, the costs provided by the Fire District will be allocated between fire suppression services and EMS services, so that only fire suppression costs are included in the assessment.
Harris will provide a summary of the costs allocated between fire suppression and EMS services (special and general benefit).
Task 2: Community Meetings
Harris will attend up to two (2) community meetings with Fire District and City staff, along with representatives of Lucy & Co., to answer questions from property owners. The presentations will be prepared by Lucy & Co. with input from Harris, the City and the Fire District.
Task 3: Develop “Frequently Asked Questions” (“FAQ”)
Working with Lucy & Co, and City and Fire District staff, Harris will assist in developing an FAQ list relevant to the proposed assessment amounts and level of service options.
Task 4: Develop and Conduct Multi-Mode Survey
Working with Lucy & Co., MMS will develop and conduct a survey to garner feedback from the public regarding the options presented. Specific survey tasks:
ADDITIONAL SCOPE OF SERVICES
Phone and email
Registered voters
Statistically significant sampling
Mostly quantitative questions, two-three open ended
Statistical reporting, cross tabbing and charts/graphs Interpretation and recommendations
Task 4 is $14,000 for MMS fees, with the additional $990 for Harris to review and comment.
This amendment will bring the total project budget to $145,900, as shown below.
Budget Update
Original Contract $118,080.00
Amendment #1 $27,820.00
Updated Total Budget $145,900.00
We appreciate and look forward to the opportunity to continue working with the City of Ripon and the Fire District. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Harris & Associates, Inc.
