HONORING THE RIPON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
IN CELEBRATION OF ITS CENTENNIAL BIRTHDAY
WHEREAS, in the year 1923 Ripon business leaders convened a meeting to organize a Chamber of Commerce to promote the commercial resources of the City of Ripon and to advocate advanced methods in municipal affairs; and
WHEREAS, in 2023, the Ripon Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its centennial birthday, marking 100 years of ensuring the success of the businesses in the City; and WHEREAS, in its history, not a single year has passed where the Ripon Chamber of Commerce has not influenced the growth and quality of life of this unique community through significant accomplishments with long-lasting benefits to the prosperity of Ripon including drawing up the Articles of Incorporation for Ripon in 1945 to become an incorporated city within San Joaquin County; and WHEREAS, the Chamber has been successful in education, promotion and municipal relationships, including the establishment of the Community Center, being instrumental in several economically beneficial businesses relocating to the City and acquiring 365 acres for Caswell Memorial State Park; and
WHEREAS, the Chamber of Commerce promotes the City and its businesses through their annual events including the Almond Blossom Festival, Main Street Day and Taste of Ripon which are some of Ripon's favorite traditions of the year; and
WHEREAS, with a century of achievement behind it, the Ripon Chamber of Commerce is looking forward with a continued commitment to ensuring a vibrant and prosperous community for future generations.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Michael Restuccia, Mayor of the City of Ripon, do hereby recognize and heartily congratulate the Ripon Chamber of Commerce on its outstanding accomplishments throughout the past 100 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Ripon, speaking on behalf of all our people, publicly congratulate the Ripon Chamber of Commerce on their centennial birthday.
