RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize Mayor to sign a five-year agreement with Wave Business (Wave) to provide phone and internet services for the Fleet Maintenance Facility at a cost of $1,099 per month.
BACKGROUND:
The existing corporation yard connects to the internet service at City Hall wirelessly. The internet service at the corporation yard is not strong and causes issues for staff. The corporation yard hosts the City’s SCADA system, so reliable internet service is imperative. The Fleet Maintenance Facility is under construction and will require phone and internet service upon completion. Three companies provided proposals for the required services.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The three quotes received are summarized in Table 1. The IT Department was consulted on the type of service required at the Fleet Maintenance Facility. Based on their recommendation, the pricing assumes 1 Gbps dedicated internet access over fiber with full PRI 23 channels under a five-year contract.

As shown in the table, Wave offers the most competitive pricing for the requested internet service. The City of Ripon currently has a contract with Wave for phone and internet services at City Hall. By selecting Wave, the City will secure the lowest price available and maintain a consistent internet provider.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The contract will cost the City $1,099 per month once the Fleet Maintenance Facility is complete. No installation cost is associated with this contract.
