Ripon, CA 95366
MEMO
To: Honorable City Council
From: Ken Zuidervaart, Planning Director
Date: 01/09/2024
Subject: Electronic Message Center Usage Policy
RECOMMENDED ACTION:

Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the resolution adopting the Electronic Message Center Usage Policy.

BACKGROUND:

In June of this year, 2023, the City Council approved the purchase and installation of an electronic message center (EMC) sign to be located in front of City Hall adjacent to Wilma Avenue. United Signs has installed the sign and is now awaiting an electrician to run power to energize the new sign, which is anticipated to take place the second week of January.

DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:

City staff put together a draft Electronic Message Center Usage Policy template that City Council reviewed at their December City Council meeting. At that meeting staff received direction from the Council regarding some minor changes to the draft policy. The changes have been incorporated into this final version and the Electronic Message Center Usage Policy is now ready for final adoption.

FISCAL IMPACT:

None.
