Subject: Clock Repair
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Direct staff to proceed with repairs to the clock at the library in the amount of $3,188 (funding source: General Fund).
BACKGROUND:
In 2014 the City of Ripon accepted a donation from the Ripon Rotary Club for a 12 foot decorative clock which was installed at the intersection of Main Street and Locust Avenue directly in front of the Ripon Library.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
In recent years the clock has been adjusted and repaired multiple times by public works staff and outside contractors for various reasons. Currently, both faces of the clock are not operating properly and are in need of repairs. Electric Time Company, Inc., the company who originally supplied and installed the clock, has evaluated the clock and has provided a quotation to make the necessary repairs which includes the replacement of several internal components.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The attached quotation from Electric Time Company, Inc. is in the amount of $3,188 and will be paid for through the General Fund.
