BACKGROUND:
Recently the Ripon Consolidated Fire District reviewed their development impact fees as is done from time to time to ensure that adequate development fees are being collected to implement the goals and objectives of the City of Ripon’s General Plan. Goodwin Consulting Group performed the analysis and published a report that updated the Ripon Consolidated Fire Protection District’s Fire Facilities Impact Fee dated June 20, 2023. The result of their analysis and proposal in the Final Report is summarized below:
Residential Fire Facilities Fees: Increase by 8.1%
Commercial and Office Fire Facilities Fees: Increase by 8.2% Industrial/Warehouse Fire Facilities Fees: Increase by 8.4%.
The Fire Board adopted the updated report on July 13, 2023 and has now forwarded it on to the City Council for final adoption. Pursuant to the Ripon Municipal Code Chapter 17.04, the City Council of the City of Ripon must authorize the collection of said Fire Facilities Impact Fees by resolution. A more detailed explanation of the update can be found in the executive summary of the final report.
