Subject: BaseCamp Environment Inc. Amendment No. 1 - Arc Way RECOMMENDATION:
Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign Amendment No. 1 to the Professional Services Agreement with BaseCamp Environmental, Inc. to provide a traffic/circulation analysis in order to process the necessary CEQA document for the Arc Way Development Project in the not to exceed amount of $14,340 (funding source: Arc Way Development Reimbursement Account).
BACKGROUND:
On June 6, 2023 the City of Ripon received an application from Sukhdev Singh for a proposed convenience store, fueling station and retail commercial development project to be located at the corner of Frontage Road and Arc Way (769 Frontage Road). At the December 12, 2023 City Council Meeting the City Council approved a reimbursement agreement between the City of Ripon and Mr. Singh for the processing of their application.
In order to cover CEQA compliance and traffic analysis for the project staff reached out to BaseCamp Environmental for a proposal to cover the needed work. At the January 9, 2024 City Council Meeting the City Council approved the Professional Services Agreement with BaseCamp Environmental, Inc. to prepare CEQA compliance documents in the amount of $30,390.
DISCUSSION:
Basecamp Environmental reached out to staff to increase the original budget by $14,340 to provide a traffic/circulation analysis (not included in the original scope) as part of the CEQA analysis for the project. Staff reached out to the developer and they agreed to the increase in cost and deposited the necessary funds into their reimbursement account.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost to complete the additional work is for a not-to exceed amount of $14,340, which will bring the total project amount to $44,730. The expense of this work will be funded by the Arc Way Development Project reimbursement account.
