MEMO
To: Honorable City Council
From: James Pease, Public Works Director
Date: 06/11/2024
Subject: Stockton Avenue Downtown Parking Lot Maintenance Project RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the contract with Earth Shelter Developers to repair the displacement of pavers at the Stockton Avenue downtown parking lot in the amount of $27,874 (funding source: Street and Road Operating Fund).
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The parking lot on Stockton Avenue located across the street from the fire station has an area of pavers where the joint sand has washed out and is in need of repair/replacement. In order to prevent the problem from extending beyond the current area, this section of pavers must be removed, reset, re-sanded and compacted to eliminate any future movement. The attached contract with Earth Shelter Developers includes repairing the damaged section of pavers and restoring the parking lot to its original condition.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The attached Contract is for a cost of $27,874 which will be paid for through the Street and Road Operating Fund (current balance: $6 million).
