RE: Concept Letter Intending to Fulfill REAP 2.0 Requirements The City of Ripon (City) is pleased to apply to the San Joaquin Council of Governments (SJCOG) Regional Early Action Planning Grant Program (REAP 2.0) in the amount of $300,000. REAP 2.0 funds are to be used to accelerate infill housing development, reduce Vehicle Miles Traveled (VMT), increase housing supply at all affordability levels, affirmatively further fair housing (AFFH), and facilitate the implementation of adopted regional and local plans to achieve these goals.

The City of Ripon intends to use the REAP 2.0 funds to ready a site for an affordable housing project, by upgrading and installing necessary infrastructure to support a planned affordable housing project within the City’s current downtown district. The affordable houses will be offered for sale to income qualified applicants that meet HUD affordability requirements.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration. City staff are available to answer any questions or address any concerns by phone at 209-599-2108 or by email at [email protected].

Sincerely,
Ken Zuidervaart, Director
Planning, Building and Economic Development
