Subject: CTE Cal, Inc.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the Professional Services Agreement with CTE Cal, Inc. to provide construction material testing and special inspection services for capital projects in the not to exceed amount of $30,000 (funding source: varies by construction project funding source).
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
To support City staff in providing specialty testing services outside staff’s capacity for various capital projects, staff has requested a scope and fee from CTE Cal, Inc. The services agreement will include soil compaction, rock compaction, asphalt/concrete material and compaction on an as needed basis for capital projects.
CTE Cal, Inc. has over 20 years of special inspection and construction testing experience on both private and public projects. CTE Cal, Inc. has an office located in Modesto and has completed similar projects for the San Joaquin County Public Works Department.
Staff recommends the City Council approve the attached Professional Services Agreement with CTE Cal, Inc. in the not to exceed amount of $30,000.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost to complete the work within the proposal is a not to exceed amount of $30,000, which will be funded through the funding source of the project that the testing and inspection is being provided.
