Subject: San Joaquin County Commission on Aging
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Appoint Kate Schulenberg to the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging.
BACKGROUND:
The San Joaquin County Commission on Aging acts as an advisory body to the Board of Supervisors on all matters affecting seniors in San Joaquin County. Members serve for a period of three years and are expected to participate in regular meetings, as well as sub committees, as part of their duties. Members of the Commission on Aging are appointed by the City Council of each incorporated municipal entity within San Joaquin County and serve for a period of three years.
After the recent resignation of the City’s representative, the City advertised for residents who are interested in serving in this role to submit an application. On September 19, 2024, Mayor Zuber interviewed interested individuals and is recommending the City Council appoint Kate Schulenberg to the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging to represent the City of Ripon.
RESOLUTION NO. 24-40
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RIPON CERTIFYING THE APPOINTMENT TO THE SAN
JOAQUIN COUNTY COMMISSION ON AGING
WHEREAS, Philip Lang has resigned from the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging after serving for 6 years; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ripon is desirous making a new appointment to the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging; and
WHEREAS, the City of Ripon advertised for applications to serve on said Commission and conducted interviews of interested residents; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor is recommending that Kate Schulenberg serve on the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging as the City of Ripon representative.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Ripon as follows:
1. Kate Schulenberg is appointed to the San Joaquin County Commission on Aging.
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Ripon this 8th day of October, 2024, by the following vote:
