Subject: South San Joaquin Irrigation District Grant of Easement & Right-of-Way RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the Grant of Easement and Right-of-Way for Access Purposes with the South San Joaquin Irrigation District (SSJID) in association with the undergrounding of the SSJID Lateral “V” canal as part of the Meadowood Development Project and execute any and all documents necessary to complete the aforementioned transaction.
BACKGROUND:
The SSJID lateral “V” canal is located near the eastern boundary of the proposed Meadowood residential development project. The Meadowood Development Agreement approved on March 5, 2018 included a condition that requires the owner/develop to underground the canal as part of their project.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
In order for the owner/developer of the Meadowood Development Project to complete this requirement, SSJID requires the City of Ripon to provide an access easement and right-of-way that allows SSJID to maintain and repair the proposed undergrounded pipeline on City of Ripon property, as described and shown on the attached exhibits.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
