Salaries and Benefits: The Aquatic Center Director’s salary, custodian salaries, lifeguards and instructors are charged to this account. The decrease in this account is the result of less hours worked at the Aquatic Center for 2023-24.
Materials and Supplies: This includes pool chemicals and supplies. Inflation is the major cause of the increase for swimming pool chemicals and supplies.

Services and Repairs: This includes pool parts, pool plumbing, pool service, testing, repair service, operating fees for the cogen plant, City of Ripon water fees and PG&E electric service.
An increase in the cost of parts needed and services needed for this fiscal year and higher inflation costs are the reason for the increase in the swimming pool services and repairs.
Income: The City’s share of Income for FY 2023-24 increased by 35% from the previous year with the Aquatic Center fully reopened and maximizing income after the Covid-19 lockdowns.
There has been increased programming at the facility as well as an increase in some user fees.
Programs that were previously impacted saw increases in revenue now that the facility has been fully reopened. Swim programs offered include open swim, swim lessons, sea lions swim, club swim and club water polo programs.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The invoice balance due in the amount of $44,874.69 will be paid out of the City’s general fund.
