3. Project Scope of Work:
This project will upgrade four key roadways. Along Second Street, improvements include Class III bikeways from South Wilma Avenue to Palm Avenue and Class II bikeways from Palm Ave to South Stockton Avenue. At three intersections, curb extensions will be installed, and existing crosswalks will be upgraded with highvisibility markings or pavers. Along North and South Acacia Avenue, Class III bikeways will be installed from Doak Boulevard to the overcrossing at Highway 99.
Along Prospect Avenue, Class III bikeways will be installed as well as a crossing upgrade at the Frontage Road intersection, which will incorporate a RRFB and median refuge. Along Ripona Avenue, Class II bikeways will be installed.
This project is a high priority for the City. It will improve roadway conditions for bicyclists and pedestrians by improving safety, comfort and convenience along key central Ripon routes. This project will create a network of on-street bikeways to connect bicyclists to existing facilities around the perimeter and northern and downtown area, connect across Highway 99 by linking facilities to the existing bicycle and pedestrian overcrossing, and connect to local schools and community destinations in downtown Ripon.
