Subject: Landscape Repair Project
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Award the contract for the Landscape Repair Project to Grover Landscape Services, Inc. in the amount of $217,755 and authorize staff to proceed (funding source: Miscellaneous Department Capital Fund).
BACKGROUND:
During the 2023 Strategic Planning meeting, the City Council identified as a priority to address a number of landscape issues around the City. A list of landscaping issues was assembled and categorized by how the issue was to be addressed – either by public works maintenance staff or hiring a contractor to address the issue.
Improvement plans and specifications were assembled and titled the Landscape Repair Project to address the landscape issues that were to be addressed by a contractor. These plans included landscape improvements on sections of Canal Boulevard, Colony Road, Milgeo Avenue, North Ripon Road, West Ripon Road, and Jack Tone Road (see Figure 1). Work to be performed for the Project includes demolition, grading, irrigation repair, planting, and other activities as shown on the Project Plans.
