Subject: Wireless Network Expansion - E-tech Communications RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the Services Agreement with E-tech Communications to complete the labor and installation of the wireless network equipment on the Ripon Communications Tower and Mistlin Water Tower in the not to exceed amount of $8,459.55 (funding source: Wireless Network Expansion Fund).
BACKGROUND:
Staff is recommending certain improvements to the City’s wireless camera network system to improve the camera connections, connectivity, and reduce camera failures, as described in the staff report for Agenda Item Wireless Network Expansion - Tower Equipment.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
Staff requested a quote from E-tech Communications to install the communication equipment on the Mistlin Water Tower and Ripon Communications Tower on Doak Boulevard, including pulling cables and aligning the equipment to communicate with the Police Department.
The total cost to complete this work is $8,459.55.
Staff is recommending the City Council approve the Services Agreement with E-tech Communications and authorize staff to move forward with the project.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fiscal impact will be $8,459.55, which was included in the total project amount of $44,821.30 noted in Agenda Item Wireless Network Expansion - Tower Equipment and will be funded by the Wireless Expansion Fund (current balance: $47,700).
