Subject: Michael White Donation
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Accept the donation of $1,982.00 from Michael White to fund half the purchase of the redesigned police badges.
BACKGROUND:
Police Department staff collaborated with V & V Manufacturing, Inc. to redesign a new badge that will issued to sworn police officers. The total cost of purchasing twenty-five (25) police badges is $3,963.48.
The City Council accepted a donation at the October City Council meeting from Restuccia Enterprises to donate half the cost of purchasing the recently redesigned police badges. The City’s General Fund would fund the remaining balance.
DISCUSSION:
The Police Department has received a second donation offer for half of the cost of purchasing the new badges. With this second donation, the City’s General Fund would no longer be used to partially fund the purchase of new badges.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The total cost to purchase twenty-five (25) badges is not to exceed $3,963.48. After the Restuccia Enterprise donation of $1,987.14 and Michael White’s donation of $1,982.00, there will be no fiscal impact to the City.
