Subject: Legal Services Agreement
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Mayor to sign the Legal Services Agreement with Renne Public Law Group. Authorize staff to take all necessary actions to terminate the City's current contract with Abbott & Kindermann or its successor.
DISCUSSION/ANALYSIS:
The City is currently represented by Abbott and Kindermann, a law firm in Sacramento, in an existing lawsuit. The primary attorneys assigned to the City's case are Bill Abbott and Glen Hansen. However, following a recent realignment at Abbott & Kindermann, Mr. Abbott and Mr.
Hansen have moved to White Brenner, LP, and Renne Public Law Group, respectively. To retain continuity for this case, staff is recommending the Council retain White Brenner, LP, and Renne Public Law Group.
