Introduction
Thank you for allowing WayPoint the opportunity to do business with The City of Ripon. It is our belief that with proper planning and preparation a successful migration will be achieved.
Overview
Create Microsoft Tenant. Migrate existing City of Ripon on premises Microsoft Exchange Server user accounts and data to Microsoft hosted Exchange 365 services location. Modify public records and internal hardware configurations to support new cloud-based services.
Prerequisites
Microsoft government tenant verification and subscription will be fulfilled prior to migration. All licensing subscriptions and software ordered from vendors will be available and accounted for prior to migration. All government domain requirements including domain name(s) will be secured and assigned prior to migration.
Schedule
The proposed time of the migration is to commence in coordination with onsite staff.
Impact on Users
While migration is in progress, users may be required to access historical data separately. Users will be instructed by inhouse staff how to perform this task.
Contingency plan
In any installation, unforeseen issues may interrupt progress. All efforts will be taken to anticipate and avoid migration delays. If problems should arise, progress reports will be given periodically as to the nature and extent of the issue.
Time estimates
It is our estimation that it will take approximately 90 hours to perform configuration and migration of all exchange data and services. We also estimate that it will take approximately 10 hours for coordination, planning, follow-up, and cleanup tasks.
This project estimation does not include desktop software installation and/or configuration which will be performed by inhouse staff.
This estimate should not be considered a “not-to-exceed” number. Periodic progress reports will be presented to in-house staff.
This estimate totals 100 hours for all network services to migrate existing City of Ripon on premises Microsoft Exchange Server user accounts and data to Microsoft hosted Exchange 365 services location.
