Under State Law, matters presented during the public comment period cannot be discussed or acted upon.
Mayor O'Brien Opened Public Comment at 6:04 P.M.
Jami Aggers, Modesto Resident, commented on her concern that the Riverwalk Project would be constructed on prime ag land. Tonight, would like to share that the signature gathering for the urban limit initiative is going very well. They have to conclude it before Christmas, and we expect to conclude it well ahead of that time, and so very soon we should be making an appointment with the City Clerk to turn in the petitions to qualify us for the November 2024 Ballot.
Vicky Holt, Branch Manager at the Riverbank Library commented on a few things happening this month. Next Tuesday, we're having a Halloween party at the library at 3:30pm. The kids are encouraged to come in costume, we will all be in costume as well.
We will be doing a cupcake walk, like musical chairs, they will win a cupcake. The kids are going to make slime and 2 different tootsie pop crafts, a spider and a pumpkin. Should be a lot of fun. We are also giving out candy and for the rest of October we have a big candy jar displayed at the front desk. They can guess how many candies are in the jar, the person that gets closest without going over will win the whole jar of candy on Halloween. Story times continues until the end of November on Tuesdays at 11:00am.
Mayor O'Brien is scheduled to come on November 14th at 11:30am right after story time.
On Saturday, November 4th at 2:00pm the master gardeners will hold a class on growing backyard fruits trees. On Tuesday, November 7'h at 4:00pm we are having a thankful turkey craft, we will be making thankful turkeys and wreaths, so kids can write what they are thankful for. The Book Club is meeting on November 28th at 4:00pm, to discuss the book the Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot. All these programs are at the library free, and it is because of the eighth of a cent dedicated sales tax that we're able to provide these. I also want to thank the Friends of the Riverbank library because they provide a lot of our craft materials.
There being no further public comments, Mayor O'Brien closed the Public Comment period 6:09 P.M.
