CONFLICT OF INTEREST
Any Council/Authority Member or Staff who has a direct Conflict of Interest on any scheduled agenda item to be considered is to declare their conflict at this time.
5. SPECIAL BUSINESS
Item 5.1 City Council Vacancy- Interviews and Consideration of Applicants for Appointment to Fulfill Vacant Councilmember District 3 Term Ending December 2026- It is recommended that the City Council conduct interviews and consider appointment of an applicant to fulfill the remaining term of former Councilmember District 3, Leanne Jones Cruz, which will expire December 2026.
City Clerk Hernandez stated she received notification via email on Friday, November 12th from Candidate Pegi A. Allen that she was withdrawing her application.
The remaining 5 candidates were asked to draw numbers to determine the order in which they would be interviewed. Candidate Interview order was drawn as follows:

Mayor O'Brien moved for a 5-minute recess.
There being no further public comment, Mayor O'Brien brought the item back to City Council.
ACTION: By motion moved and seconded (Barber-Martinez / Uribe 3/0) to approve Resolution 2024-107 to appoint Riverbank Resident John C. Pimentel to fill the District 3 City Council Vacancy.
Motion carried by unanimous City Council and LRA Board roll call vote:
AYES: Uribe, Barber-Martinez, and Mayor O'Brien
NAYS: None / ABSENT: None / ABSTAINED: Hernandez
6. ADJOURNMENT OF THE REGULAR MEETING
There being no further business, Mayor / Chair O'Brien adjourned the Special City Council meeting at 7:12 P.M. to the next regular scheduled City Council / LRA Meeting of December 10, 2024 at 6:00 P.M.
