Since 1995, the City has contracted two major areas of service with the Riverside County Department of Animal Services:1. Shelter Services – Current agreement terminates in 2035.2. Field Services – Current agreement terminates on December 31, 2022. BACKGROUND 1/6/2022

DISCUSSIONCity and County staff have been negotiating terms ofa new Field Services agreement, but needCommittee input or direction on one specific item:1. The County is requesting that the City of Riversideforego Title 8 in its entirety, in favor of adoptingOrdinances 534, 560, 630, 716, 771 and 878 of theCounty of Riverside in their entirety.

COUNTY ORDINANCESThe proposed County Ordinances includes, but is not limited to, the following: 1.Large animals at large2.Low cost spay and neuter clinics3.Keeping and control of dogs, cats and other animals4.Seizure, impoundment and termination of ownership5.Potentially dangerous and/or vicious animals6.Abatement of noisy animals 1/6/2022
