STRATEGIC PLAN ALIGNMENT:

This Project aligns to Strategic Priority No. 6 – Infrastructure, Mobility and Connectivity and Goal No. 6.2 – Maintain, protect, and improve assets and infrastructure within the City’s built environment to ensure and enhance reliability, resiliency, sustainability, and facilitate connectivity.

Community Trust – This Project repairs broken curb, gutter, and sidewalk to resolve localized drainage issues and provide ADA compliant sidewalk, therefore instilling trust of the residents in the local government to serve the public interest.

Equity – This Project addresses roadway concrete infrastructure in all Wards within the entire City.

Fiscal Responsibility – This Project was publicly bid and construction contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidders.

Innovation – This Project utilizes permeable concrete gutter to minimize ponding water in low spots in the streets. Stagnant water is unsightly, can cause odor issues, and is a breeding ground for mosquitoes during the summer. Riverside is inventive and timely in meeting the community’s changing needs and prepares for the future through collaborative partnerships and adaptive processes.

Sustainability & Resiliency – This Project utilizes concrete for the proposed repairs, which is considered as most reliable and sustainable in these applications.

FISCAL IMPACT:

The total fiscal impact of this action is $295,400. Sufficient funds are available in the Project expenditure accounts shown in the table below to award the construction contract and complete the Project.
